This is an interview from October 2019 with former prop trader Peter To.
Peter got his start putting the odds in his favor during the online poker boom in the mid-2000s. After building a substantial bankroll from poker, Peter entered the prop trading world and encountered a series of shady firms, insane gains and losses, and interesting characters. But most of all, high-level prop trading forced Peter to confront some of his emotional baggage, which is still a struggle for him.
Throughout this interview, Peter entertains us with some prop trading war stories, updates us on some of his bigger bets at the time, and touches on the potential for shorting pump and dumps to be a “crowded trade.”
Peter writes my favorite trading blog on the internet, Churning and Burning over at churningandburning.com. What he lacks in consistent content, he more than makes up in unique and honest commentary on the life his professional trading career.
